Memoirs of a WAAF
True account based on her WW2 diaries, written in secret
The last few copies of Memoirs of a WAAF are available in paperback direct from me (see below) or on here on Amazon Kindle. A true story, based on 18 year-old Daphne Dangerfield’s WW2 secret diaries, and her daily experiences as a WAAF in service from 1942-43.
Her initial training at Gloucester and Cranwell and her subsequent first year as a Radio Telephone Operator (RTO) at Bradwell Bay in Essex. She talks about the good times – at dances, trips to The Green Man and The Cricketers, and meeting many boyfriends amongst the regular arrivals of new squadrons. As well as her journeys back home, allowed with special permission. But the sad occasions too, when friends or comrades were killed in action.
